On 1 January 2007 Drumdojo became funded through advertising revenue after having been a created and supported by Paul Marshall and bingbangbong.info since 1998.

The site has become large over the years and has been taking increasing amounts of time and money to manage and develop. Drumdojo will always be free for the visitor and therefore the only way to offset costs is through advertising.

This advertising on the site takes two forms: Contextual Advertising and Private Advertising

• Google Adsense. The original and most common form of contextual advertising. Its adverts are very common. You can see them in the column to the right of this text.
  • Using Adsense permits Drumdojo contributors to receive the proceeds of text ads on any page they write if they become adsense publishers . Link adverts are for site use.
• Kontera. A text-based system that identifies key words on the page and links them to advertisers. I have defined these links in green and they are double underlined to avoid confusion with a standard link.
