Alright, so I am the "ethnic percussionist" for my church's praise band. On any given Sunday I could find myself playing any/all of the three listed above and occasionally the bodhran too. Not all at the same time, of course. We have been having a lot of monitor troubles for our bass, guitar, piano and keyboard p_layer_s. we have switched to a small mixer that allows the band members to use headphone monitors. This has eliminated a lot of issues.
My problem: None of my drums are mic'ed.
Question: What would be the best (relatively low cost) solution for the situation?
FWIW, I sit on a raised platform with the congas in front (right about wiast high for the heads), big one on the right, small on the left. The bongo's are on a stand directly in front of the congas. The Djembe is on a stand, to my right at about a 45 degree angle from the chair. The bodhran sits on my left leg (when played)
