Drumdojo Advertising Policies

On 1 January 2007 Drumdojo became funded through advertising revenue after having been a created and supported by Paul Marshall and bingbangbong.info since 1998.

The site has become large over the years and has been taking increasing amounts of time and money to manage and develop. Drumdojo will always be free for the visitor and therefore the only way to offset costs is through advertising.

I know that there are mixed views on the aesthetics and I am seeking to balance presentation with revenue.

This advertising on the site takes two forms: Contextual Advertising and Private Advertising

advertising advertisers adsense

Contextual advertising is the provision of adverts on or around the page that are related to the context of the page. The adverts are served by an ad provider. Drumdojo currently uses providers of two forms of contextual advertising:
  • Google Adsense. The original and most common form of contextual advertising. Its adverts are very common. You can see them in the column to the right of this text.
  • Kontera. A text-based system that identifies key words on the page and links them to advertisers. I have defined these links in green and they are double underlined to avoid confusion with a standard link.

Private Advertisers in this field who are seeking to advertise on a specific page or an area of the dojo are invited to enquire. Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it in the first instance

Contributors to the website are invited to include a brief biography which may include permanent links to endorsed and preferred products where relevant.
