David was born in Muenster, Germany in 1979. He played different instruments in various formations before he discovered the world of hand- and fingerdrumming. Soon he became a regular teacher in the percussion school "rhythmuswelt" in Muenster. Later he decided to move to the netherlands to intensify his studies and to become a student in the worldmusic department of the rotterdam conservatory

In 2001 David got into live looping, started to work with impro-dance classes in the rotterdam danceacademy and to compose music for dance performances. He became a member of the "Al Farabi" Ensemble, which was founded by ethnomusicologist Wouter Swets in 1969. In 2002 he founded the Duo "ZwischenRaum" with sax- and keys-player Holger Raddatz. Since 2003, David lives in Berlin and teaches and performs with the ensemble "EST" for old music.
