David
was born in Muenster, Germany in 1979. He played different instruments
in various formations before he discovered the world of hand- and
fingerdrumming. Soon he became a regular teacher in the percussion
school "rhythmuswelt" in Muenster. Later he decided to
move to the netherlands to intensify his studies and to become a
student in the worldmusic department of the rotterdam conservatory
In
2001 David got into live looping, started to work with impro-dance
classes in the rotterdam danceacademy and to compose music for dance
performances. He became a member of the "Al Farabi" Ensemble,
which was founded by ethnomusicologist Wouter Swets in 1969. In
2002 he founded the Duo "ZwischenRaum" with sax- and keys-player
Holger Raddatz. Since 2003, David lives in Berlin and teaches and
performs with the ensemble "EST" for old music.
